The parades include the Brooklyn Three Kings Day Parade in January, the Chinese New Year celebration in February, the Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parades in March, the Brooklyn Greek Orthodox Holy Friday / Easter procession in April, the Dance Africa Festival, Norweigan Parade and the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade in May, the Greek parade, the Mermaid Parade, the Pride Parade and the Brooklyn Dominican Independence Day Parade in June, the Giglio Festival and City of Water Day in July, the BRIC Festival, Pakistani Parade and Feast of Santa Rosalia in August, the West Indian American Day Parade, Oktoberfest, the Great Irish Fair and the Greek Fair in September, the Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade and Halloween in October, and the Brooklyn Veterans Day Parade in November.   • * Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 11.30 am to 2 pm - Brooklyn Chinese American Association Chinese New Year Parade. The parade begins at 50th Street and 8th Avenue in Sunset Park in Brooklyn NYC. Free.
  • * Friday, Saturday & Sunday, February 22 - 25, 2024 beginning at 2 pm / 6 pm, 11 am / 3 pm / 7 pm & 11 am / 3 pm respectively - Ringling Brothers at Barclays Center at 620 Atlantic Avenue at Flatbush in Downtown Brooklyn.   • * Sunday, March 17, 2024 beginning at 1 pm, the Brooklyn Saint Patrick's Parade. The St. Patrick's Day events begin at Bartel-Pritchard Square at 14th Street at the southwest corner of Prospect Park in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. The parade kicks off at Prospect Park West and 15th St [assembly stretches to 9th St] and then marches to 7th Ave & Garfield Place, back to Prospect Park West & 15th Street where there's a celebration / after party from 2 - 5 pm at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 245 Prospect Park West.   • * Sunday, March 24, 2024 beginning at 1 pm - the Bay Ridge Brooklyn Saint Patrick's Parade kicks off on 3rd and Marine Avenues and marches north along 3rd Avenue to 67th Street, turning west and ending in Owl's Head Park in Bayridge.   • * Thursday, May 23 - Tuesday, May 28, 2024 - MANHATTAN FLEET WEEK. Update for 2024 coming next weekend. The details of 2023 are below, including a url.
    • There was a fly over by the U.S. Navy on Tuesday afternoon [5/23/23] over the East Coast Memorial at Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan. In addition to three U.S. Navy ships, there will also be ships from Italy, Canada and the U.K. The ships will be docked at Piers 88 & 90 on the west side of Manhattan, as well as at the Homeport Pier on Staten Island.     • There does not appear to be any Memorial Day Parades planned in Manhattan BUT there are Memorial Day related events at the Intrepid Air & Space Museum, as well as at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn and at Port Pier at 305 Front Street in Stapleton on Staten Island. Fleet Week runs from the middle of the week prior to Memorial Day and ends the Tuesday 5/30/23 following Memorial Day. Steps off at the Holy Family Church parking lot at 9719 Flatlands Avenue heading southeast along East 98th Street to Avenue L. It then turns right heading southwest along Avenue L before turning right heading northwest along Remson Avenue, where the parade marches a couple of block before stopping at the Carnarsie Cemetery to honor the fallen. It begins assembly at 10 am and then at 1 pm begins marching east along Surf Avenue from West 21st Street [heading east] to West 10th Street, where it turns south toward the Boardwalk. Fireworks and entertainment generally run from about 6 to 10 pm. As this is on a still active U.S. military base at 404 Sterling Drive in Brooklyn, non-military personnel must register in advance [generally by about 3 weeks prior] to attend.   • * Crown Heights _ All Weekend [see below**] / Monday, September 2, 2024 beginning at 10 am - 57th Annual West Indian American Day Parade and Carnival. There are events related to the parade going on all weekend [see below]. The parade begins at 11 am on Labor Day, Monday September 2nd starting near the Children's Zoo in Prospect Park, which is just south of the Grand Army Plaza near the Brooklyn Museum. The parade then marches south through Prospect Park along Flatbush Avenue. At the Flatbush they exit from the Park, the parade turns onto Empire Blvd and heads east to Nostrand, and then turns south ending at Midwood. Almost every site I saw seemed to get this wrong except the NYPD and the Organizers' site. The event runs from 10 am - 6 pm and you'll also find food stalls and shopping along along Eastern Parkway in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Staten Island is the starting poinit, while Brooklyn is the first leg, the Queens segment of the course is around the midpoint before heading into Manhattan, then north to the Bronx over the Willis Avenue Bridge, where they do a U turn by heading west over the Madison Avenue Bridge before turning south into Manhattan and Central Park.     • So you can do some math to figure out when to greet them in your borough. The fastest men complete the race in a bit more than two hours, while the average is 4 hours and 40 minutes. September 2023 Parades & Cultural Festivals in Brooklyn NYC

  • One of the biggest events of the Labor Day Weekend in Brooklyn is the West Indian American Day Parade and Carnival. While there are events related to the parade going on all weekend, the parade begins at 11 am on Monday September 4th starting near the Children's Zoo in Prospect Park which is just south of the Grand Army Plaza near the Brooklyn Museum. The parade then marches south through Prospect Park along Flatbush Avenue. At the Flatbush exit from the Park, the parade turns onto Empire Blvd and heads east to Nostrand, and then turns south ending at Midwood. Almost every site I saw seemed to get this wrong except the NYPD and the Organizers' site. The event runs from 10 am - 6 pm and you'll also find food stalls and shopping along along Eastern Parkway in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.

  • East Williamsburg _ Friday, September 29 - Sunday October 8, 2023 [excluding Monday & Tuesday 10/2 & 10/3] from 5 - 11 pm on Wednesday & Thursdays, until 10 pm Friday, two seatings on Saturday from 12 noon - 4.45 pm and from 5.15 - 10 pm; and on Sunday from 12 noon - 8 pm - Zum Schneider Fest. This is a traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest which for years had been held in Manhattan along the East River at 23rd Street.   • Saturday & Sunday, November 4 & 5, 2023 from 11 am to 6 pm - FAD Holiday Market at Empire Stores at 55 Water Street in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn.
  • Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 2 am - Daylight Savings Time. This is where we will 'fall back' by moving our clocks back one hour starting at 2 am Sunday, or before going to bed Saturday night.
  • Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 8 am - 5 pm - The NYC Marathon runners begin congregating at Fort Wadsworth at the foot of the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge on Staten Island beginning at 7 am. The Professional Wheelchairs take off at 8 am, the Handcyclists at 8.22 am, the Professional Women at 8.40 am, and the Professional Men at 9.05 am, with the last wave at 11.40 am. Staten Island is the starting poinit, while Brooklyn is the first leg, the Queens segment of the course is around the midpoint before heading into Manhattan, then north to the Bronx over the Willis Avenue Bridge, where they do a U turn by heading west over the Madison Avenue Bridge before turning south into Manhattan and Central Park.     • So you can do some math to figure out when to greet them in your borough. The fastest men complete the race in a bit more than two hours, while the average is 4 hours and 40 minutes.
