While generally Brooklyn Street Fairs begin in April, this year we're going year round by including the winter months. We're starting by identifying some of the year round markets, which while not exactly street fairs, contain some of the elements of the street fair experience including an eclectic offering of merchandise and food items. And we'll add in other markets as we become aware of them.

• Sunday, February 2, 2025 beginning at 11 am - Bensonhurst Chinese New Year Parade - in the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn. The parade starts at 65th Street and marches up to 83rd Street along 18th Avenue. Organized by the Chinese American Social Services. • Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm - Brooklyn Chinese American Association Chinese New Year Parade. The parade begins at 60th Street and 8th Avenue in Sunset Park in Brooklyn NYC. • Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 11 pm to 4 am - Brooklyn Reggae Fest - at the Brooklyn Paramount at 385 Flatbush Avenue Extension [at DeKalb & Flatbush] in Downtown Brooklyn. For $30 - $981 tickets and details see - https://www.brooklynparamount.com.

• Sunday, March 16, 2025 beginning at 1 pm - 50th Annual Brooklyn Saint Patrick's Parade. At 10.30 am there's a church service at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 245 Prospect Park West. The St. Patrick's Day parade assembly begins at Bartel-Pritchard Square at 14th Street [assembly stretches to 9th St] at the southwest corner of Prospect Park in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. At 1 pm there's a dedication to the 911 firefighter. At 1.30 pm the parade kicks off at Prospect Park West and 15th St and then marches to 7th Avenue. It turns right onto 7th Avenue & marches to Garfield Place, where it turns right again heading back to Prospect Park West, where it turns right again & circles back to 15th Street where there's a celebration / after party from 2 - 5 pm at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 245 Prospect Park West. • Saturday, April 5, 2025 with pre-show at 6.30 pm & Show beginning at 8 pm - the 12th Annual Brooklyn Folk Festival [started 2009] - at the Kupferberg Center at Queens College in Queens. The Brooklyn Folk Festival began in 2008 / 2009 when some folks from the Jalopy Theater / School of Music in Red Hook decided there should be an event / venue to showcase local Brooklyn musicians' talent. This year an unspecified number of musicians, vocalists and instrumentalists will provide entertainment. This was a Brooklyn street, food and music festivals in the Downtown and Red Hook neighborhoods of Brooklyn, but in 2025 it moved to Queens.

• NYC _ Saturday, April 12 - Sunday, April 20, 2025 - Passover. The Jewish celebrating their flight to freedom from slavery in Egypt thousands of years ago. Communal feasts, also known as Seders are generally held the first night.

Various art, culture, history and architectural tours throughout all five boros of NYC. Free. They describe the event as follows, " ... About 50 designers and creatives will show and sell their works consisting of home furnishings, tableware, apparel, jewelry, and other works. Street fairs in Boerum Hill Brooklyn.

This is a new market of new things many of which I believe are locally made including clothing, accessories, bags, prints & upcycled apparel, also psychic, tarot card readings, reiki, yoga and pizza making.

• * Fort Hamilton Bay Ridge _ Friday, June 26, 2024 opening at 4.30 pm - Fort Hamilton is hosting an Independence Day Celebration that includes food trucks, vendors and a fireworks display on the lawn of the military base adjacent to the Bay Ridge neighborhood on Brooklyn. Fireworks and entertainment generally run from about 6 to 10 pm. As this is on a still active U.S. military base at 404 Sterling Drive in Brooklyn, non-military personnel must register in advance [generally by about 3 weeks prior] to attend. On Saturdays it's held in Williamsburg at Bushwick Inlet Park at Kent & North 8th Street [head toward East River] and on Sundays it's held in Prospect Park at Lincoln Road and Ocean Avenue [head inside the park toward the ponds]. • * RECURRING _ Coney Island _ Friday Nights, June, July August, 2024 beginning at dusk [about 9.15 pm] - Coney Island Weekly Friday Night Fireworks along the Riegelmann Boardwalk at West 12th Street on Coney Island in Brooklyn. The Coney Island fireworks are always held off the beach, generally in the area of the Steeplechase tower in Steeplechase Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn. This event is held every Friday until Labor Day Weekend.

• FORT GREENE _ Saturday thru Tuesday, July 1 - 4, 2023 from 10 am - 9 pm - The 52nd International African Arts Festival - At Commodore Barry Park at Flushing & Park Avenues & Navy Street [North Elliot Place] in the Fort Greene Neighborhood of Brooklyn. • CONEY ISLAND _ Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 11 am - 1 pm - Nathan's Hotdog Eating Contest - At the corner of Stillwell and Surf. Contestants show many hotdogs they can eat in ten minutes. In 2021 - For the men, Joey Chestnut ate 76 hotdogs in ten minutes, and for the women, Michelle Lesco ate just shy of 31 hot dogs in ten minutes.

A DAILY Italian festival with food, music, dance, entertainment and kiddie rides, as well as the cultural hoisting of the Giglio. Organized by Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
