A number of community groups in collaboration with the NYC Parks Department and frequently with some measure of various levels of government funding, have put together a summer full of films and free summer concerts in the parks. The free concerts listed below are designed for young and old alike and they're FREE.

- Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 3 - 10 pm - Brooklyn Americana Music Festival. From 3 - 4.30 pm there are a number of participatory workshops, of which many have a Pride inclusive theme. The Pride Fest and LGBTQ Parade in Manhattan is on Sunday, June 25, 2023. From 4.30 - 10 pm there are musical performances every 30 - 60 minutes. Liberty Lawn. Free.

- Location. The Brooklyn Bridge Park is located along the East River beginning just north of the Manhattan Bridge down to Atlantic Avenue. It's eastern border is the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, so there are limited entrances from the Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo neighborhoods. The Harborview Lawn on Pier 1 may be accessed by crossing over the BQE at Middaugh Street in Brooklyn Heights.

Free Summer Outdoor Concerts at BAM - Free Things To Do In Fort Green Brooklyn NYC
- Saturday through Sunday, May 13 - June 11, 2023 - Dance Africa Festival at BAM - At 30 Lafayette Avenue at Ashland Place - in the Peter Jay Sharp Building and Howard Gilman Opera House in the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. It's a performance festival featuring African culture. Tickets start at $35 for adults and $22 for kids. For details see www.bam.org. This is NOT a street fair, but there is a bazaar day, but it is mostly musical, theatrical and cultural dance performances.

The new Seaside Park and Community Arts Center is located at the western end of Coney Island / Riegelmann Boardwalk. The complex includes the Coney Island Amphitheater [aka Ford Amphitheater], Seaside Park and parking. The amphitheater is a 5,000 seat covered & open air venue.
Note that last year [2022] some of the SummerStage concerts at the Amphitheater were free. There aren't any in the above mix at present, but more concerts will be added over the summer.
