We update parades and festival events as we approach the event date. Only Asterisked events have been updated to 2026. Pay attention to the dates / year.

The parades we feature not only include the majors but also the minors and the new ones as we become aware of them. We expect to add about 5 to 10 new parades or events to each month as the year progresses. As the year unfolds, you will be able to scroll down to see for yourself.

  • Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 4 to 8 pm - 21st Annual Brooklyn Derby Party - at Greenwood Park [entrance at 555 7th Avenue] in South Slope. Modern Derby party complete with garb and get up.   • * NYC - Sunday, May 3, 2026 waves begin at 7.30, 8.30, 9.15, 9.50 and 10.30 am & officially over between 4 and 6 pm - 5 Boro Bike Ride. Assembly begins along Broaday, south of Canal Street down to Battery Park in Manhattan, depending on the cyclist wave folks are in. The course is 40 miles long, and most of the 32,000 cyclists finish in under 5 hours. It ends at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, where there's a finishing party that runs from 10 am to 5.30 pm. This fair encompasses most - if not all - aspects of publishing, with a focus on African Americans because there aren't enough platforms and venues for Black Authors and Publishers to learn, mix and mingle. The parade then turns right [eastward] on 75th Street [aka Bay Ridge Parkway], before turning left [resumes northward journey] onto 5th Avenue, to 67th Street. It's a festival of African culture, that includes performance, classes, film, community, a bazaar, history and storytelling. Ticket prices vary but start from free / $25 / $35.   • * Carnarsie _ Monday, May 25, 2026 from 10 am - 12 noon - Brooklyn Canarsie Lions Club Memorial Day Parade - Assembly begins at 9.30 am in the parking lot of the Holy Family Church at 9719 Flatlands Avenue. The parades heads southeast along East 98th Street to Avenue L. It then turns right heading southwest along Avenue L before turning right heading northwest along Remson Avenue, where the parade marches a couple of blocks before stopping at the Carnarsie Cemetery to honor the fallen. After the cemetery commemoration ceremony, the parade continues north on Remson turning right onto Conklin Avenue, ending at the American Legion at 1130 East 92nd Street. We spoke to the Intrepid Museum, which is located at West 46th Street and the Hudson River, and they confirmed that the flyover would definitely be passing by them at the museum.
