While St. Patrick's Day is one big party, it's important to keep in mind, that like New Years Eve, all the amateurs come out to play [it's not just the Irish who are out drinking on St. Patrick's Day]. So some measure of caution is advised and you have to be careful.

St Patrick's Day Parades & St Pat's Day Celebrations in Brooklyn 2024
There are two St. Patrick's Day parades in Brooklyn. One is in Prospect Park West and the other is in Bay Ridge.
* Sunday, March 17, 2024 beginning at 1 pm, the Brooklyn Saint Patrick's Parade. The St. Patrick's Day events begin at Bartel-Pritchard Square at 14th Street at the southwest corner of Prospect Park in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. The parade was established in 1975 and is said to be the oldest St Patricks Day Parade in Brooklyn.
- Parade Route. Historically, the parade kicks off at Prospect Park West and 15th St [assembly stretches to 9th St] and then marches to 7th Ave & Garfield Place, back to Prospect Park West & 15th Street where there's a celebration from 2 - 5 pm.
- After Party. There's a St Patrick's Day Parade after party at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 245 Prospect Park West. There's a corned beef and cabbage dinner served along with beer, soda and music by Celtic Justice for $50 for which you must rsvp as there are no tickets sold at the gate. Location. At 9715 3rd Avenue in the Bayridge neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Description. According to rumor / legend, Kitty Kiernan's bar was originally opened in 1934 as one of the first Irish pubs in Bayridge and Brooklyn following the end of the Prohibition. Fast forward to 1996 and an Irish immigrant re-opened the bar and has maintained its landmark look, with a long dark marble-topped bar, the old gaslight simulated lighting, and dark wood abounding with a look a the Verrazano Narrows Bridge [I haven't yet been there so this is still hearsay].
