Kennedy Schlossberg to Run for Nadler's UWS Congressional Seat
The grandson of President John F. Kennedy announced his intention to run for the congressional seat of Jerry Nadler, who announced he would be retiring from congress at the end of 2026. Members of the first generation of Kennedys in American politics, were impressive. But since then, far less so.
That said, I generally try to keep an open mind, until such time as I have enough information, to begin to make a fair assessment resulting in the formulation of an opinion and point of view.

U.S. Shutdown Ends - Billionaire TV News Ignores the Corruption Story
Senate Majority Leader Thune Allows Provision Enabling Possible Multi-Million Dollar Payouts by the U.S. Taxpayer to Ten Sitting Republican Senators
Speaker Johnson Holds Modern Day Record for House Paid Days Off
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025 House Speaker, Mike Johson, reconvened the U.S. House of Representatives after one of the longest periods of the House being out of session in modern American history. To many, the Speaker's decision to keep the House out of session was seen as a shirking of duty, and an abdication of the power of the branch of government that is most repesentational of the people, to the Executive branch of government.
In the bill, which reopens the federal government, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, reportedly allowed a provision in the bill to enable senators, who had their electronic communications devices inspected and / or monitored, to sue the federal government for $500,000 - per each device - for the inconvenience. The measure allows for retroactive lawsuits, dating back to the January 6th Insurrection - even if the government was acting with a court order.
One of the problems with the bill is that given it is retroactive, it essentially guarantees million to multi-million dollar payouts to the ten sitting senators probed during the January 6th Insurrection. They are: Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty of Tennessee; Josh Hawley of Missouri; Lindsey Graham of South Carolina; Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming; Dan Sullivan of Alaska; Tommy Tuberville of Alabama; Ron Johnson of Wisconsin; Ted Cruz of Texas and Rick Scott of Florida.

Important Information and Reports, You'll Scarcely Find on Billionaire TV News
October 28, 2025 / Billionaire Press NYC Billionaire TV News / Brooklyn Politics / Brooklyn News NYC / Brooklyn News Updates / News Analysis & Opinion / Brooklyn BLVD NYC.
'TV News' is a misnomer, as these days they do little reporting about the important news stories of the day. Instead they allow themselves to be led around by top government officials, who use them to distract their audiences from what's really going on in government, by spinning tales of nonsense - like the United Nations escalator conspiracy, the Haitian immigrants eating dogs and cats in Ohio, and the like.
TV News no longer appears to be generally staffed by competent, dedicated, truth-seeking newspeople, but instead by teleprompter reading actors and models. TV News whittles away their audiences' precious time by showing them what seem the same repetitive police crime videos and social media accident videos. And they air long winded weather reports [do they really think we need to spend ten minutes to find out what the temperature, wind, humidity and precipitation will be tomorrow?], sprinkled with advertorials for their celebrities, their shows, and their music and movies, telling us this is the news.
So, in the interest of community service, we've decided to provide our audience with short reports, with links to sources we find reliable, of the important stories we think are not well covered by billionaire TV News, if covered at all. We hope you'll appreciate our efforts to inform you. And if you do, please spread the word so that your friends and family will start waking up to the fact that TV News is controlled by billionaires, and they're using it to manipulate voters perceptions, whereas in the past - probably ending sometime around Cronkite's retirement in the 1980's - TV News informed Americans about the real news stories of the day that were important for participants in our democracy to pay attention to, stay abreast of, and ultimately collectively and communally address.
We've started this news section in late September / early October and have been updating weekly, posting on Mondays. But the posting date is subject to change. Hilight each link you want to use, then copy it and paste it into the browser bar.

In the talk video referenced above, there is also information about vaccine access for those who may not be able to afford vaccinations on their own, as NYC and NYS have allocated funds to reduce / remove financial barriers to those who wish to be vaccinated but may not be able to afford the shots. In the video they also mention the NYC Health Map link where visitors can find locations where they may obtain access to vaccines, made affordable or free for eligible applicants. But please call 311 to find out how to go about qualifying first. Click this link to view the NYC Health Map, which also includes quite a bit of other health related information.
The image above or at right shows that the respiratory illness season has begun, including CoVid 19, the Flue and RSV. Flu and RSV are on the rise - but from very low levels currently - while CoVid 19 has been declining. Generally things look good as of this posting.

Governor Hochul Bans use of AI in Rent Pricing
October 16, 2025 / Brooklyn Real Estate & Business / Brooklyn Politics / Brooklyn News NYC / News Analysis & Opinion / Brooklyn BLVD NYC.
On October 16, 2025 Governor Hochul signed into law a bill which bans the use of AI / software used by landlords to price rents. On August 23, 2024, the Biden Administration Department of Justice filed a civil lawsuit in tandem with the attorney generals of eight states, including the state of California, to ban the use of algorithyms in rental pricing software, claiming that it was essentially price fixing, which is a violation of anti-trust law.

The New York League of Conservation Voters did a nice job of articulating what's on the ballot and identifying what both proponents and naysayers say about each [1st link]. We also posted an OpEd dated October 12, 2025 for details of the position of City Club, a civic-minded community group, on four of the ballot measures. City Club has initiated a lawsuit over Charter Revision changes [2nd link]. And lastly, we've included the report of an informative local news source about the measures [3rd link].

While Governor Hochul parroted the real estate developers' talking point [not plural], stating it's 'to solve the [25 year] affordable housing crisis', her statement was tepid [4th link]. But an outright NO would have been better. But all pols in NYC, NYS and the USA are challenged by the Supreme Court Citizens United decision which essentially allows the super rich billionaires to limitlessly spend to buy pols and elections, so that once in office, the pols will do whatever they want in order to get the funding to get re-elected. That said, Hochul appears to have tried to strike a balance versus press releases I've seen from the real estate industry pushing the changes in their favor.
It's worth noting that the billionaires, real estate developers, and the pols they financially support - including Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo - have been working to solve the affordability crisis in NYC for the past twenty-five years - with something close to ZERO success. To keep letting these same people, keep feeding at the public trough [via public land transfers, tax breaks, cheap financing, government subsidies, favorable zoning changes et al], with no end in sight, makes no sense at all.

Vote No on #2, #3, #4 & #6 if you want to protect yourself, your community and your children from even more NYC Oligarchy money and power grabs by billionaires and real estate developers. Eric Adams has already done enough damage to New Yorkers' ability to exercise their community rights, so don't let him hit us one last time, with this donor power grab, on his way out onto the street.
NYS Inflation Refund Checks Coming Soon
To be Deposited or Mailed in October & November 2025
September 26, 2025 / NYS / Brooklyn Real Estate & Business / Brooklyn Politics / Brooklyn News NYC / News Analysis & Opinion / Brooklyn BLVD NYC.
The Hochul Administration began sending NYS Inflation Refund checks to the 8.2 million residents of NYS. The refunds will be $150 / $200 or $400 per person depending on income and tax paying related persons status. The ostensible purpose of the checks is to help New Yorkers combat the negative impact of inflation on New Yorkers' household budgets. For details see -
